Me, Myself and Mayvelous

Here is one interesting contest I come across.
Every month, we’ll design a web page in Photoshop and host a competition to see who can turn it into the best web page. The designs we release will present specific markup challenges, along with design and coding considerations for everyone from web newbies to experienced developers.
The point of CSS Off is to make you think critically about web design, and then execute it on a dime. You’ve got 12 24 hours to take our design and slice it up.
The first contest starts at 1st June 2007. Can’t wait to see how it turn out. If time favors, I like to give it a try too.
To do so…I need to install Photoshop. I’ve been using Firework too much that I’m forgetting how to use Photoshop.
May be I’ll convert their .psd file into .png and slice it up. Will see their design first. Read details here.

I think you can just push the psd through into F-works and then make a HTML directly through it… even slicing is automatic in F-works if you insert or create hotspots for hyperlinks – isnt life grand when everything is done for someone lol~
May, good find!
Fireworks will import PSD files, but you may lose the individual layers and text components and just get a flattened image.
@Rizwan, Fireworks will convert a sliced PNG to HTML but you’ll get no points from this contest for that type of non-accessible work
hmmm really? But I thought last time when I tried, fireworks still keeps layers from psd file. Well I didn’t really import as in proper import, I just open the psd file using firework and it works fine.
Then I save the whole thing as .png file. Looks ok to me, may be image resolution gone lower…not that obvious to me tho.
I’ll check properly next time.
