Poem: Alinkar Shin

Excellence in Arts (Alinka)
(In praise of Dagon taryar)

“May” is the famous novel of Dagon Taryar
It evokes a sweet smiling lady in the readers
No one can ever forgets her
Once you have read and devour her treasures.

“May” is modern, stylish and new
She is pretty, intelligent and shrewd
She is kind, caring daring and true
She is a real flower where honour is due
Where “The soft silky cool breeze blew”.

Artists should not be villains in history
They are stars in the public gallery
Dagon Taryar is the star of stars in literati
He wrote ‘Yoke Pon Hlwar”, a book of biographies
Of real prominent men in Burmese hierachy
For all to remember till eternity.

Dagon Taryar is a lotus in clean water
He is a leader and preacher for other writers
He publishes the “Taryar” magazine to foster
New poetry, prose, essay and whatsoever
So that a new epoch is set up in Burmese literature
He is indeed a brilliant leader in this endevour.

He had wandered over Irrawaddy, Yang-tse and Volga
He had really travelled far and wide ever
He never grumbles or groans for any hardships
Yet he was thrown into prison by Myanma socialists
He did not give in and lives
He writes the historic novel for all to relish
It’s ” Our day will come”, no one to miss.

Dagon taryar is an all round artiste
He is deft at play acting and music
He plays piano, harp and own lips
It’s sweet, melodious and artistic
Evoking pleasure that is nostalgic
As words flow from his pen rhymes so splendic.

He is very imaginative
Whatever he touches is creative
It’s art at high spirit
His thinkings are witch butterflies
He paints whatever is in his mind
By words, paints, brushes and dyes
All are pleasing to eye.

He had shown light and darknes
Black and white to redress
He has bequeathed his arts earnestly
To benefit us repeatedly
In print, picture, sound and Ceedees
His fame will reach far and wide till eternity.

He is in his twilight stage
Yet, he does not seem to age
His writings still speak of a sage
His poems young, fresh and vibrant made
He is a master of art usage
To persuade people to strive for a golden age.

Oh, Saya Dagon Taryar
You are a real star
Master of arts and literature
Your creations are bright and brilliant ever
Sharp and shining with ardour
You reside in the hearts of all art lovers
Churning out peace, pleasure and power
We’re ever grateful for your creativity and charity (cetana).

In honour of Dagon Taryar’s 88th Birthday on 11th May 2007

Family Conversation

Scenario: My mom checking out what I’m doing and curious about who my friends are.

Me: tap tap tap….
Mom: what are to doing?
Me: Chatting with Missy.
Mom: Are they your friends? (Looking at my gtalk friend list icons)
Me: yah
Mom: who is the one called D-A-D?
Me: huh? Who?
Mom: D-A-D
Me: LOL it’s Dad!! Faygyi lay.
Mom: Oh, you chat with your father across the room too.
Me: You don’t know who the person is in the photo?
Mom: well I can’t see the photo properly.
Me: Yah yah that’s Dad.

For some reason, I chat with my dad and brother on gtalk at home instead of go talk to them in person. Last time, I was asking something to my brother over gtalk then he started yelling from his room, why am I chatting him on gtalk instead of just ask him outside. My mom is the only one who doesn’t use computer at home so I do the proper talking with her the most. At work too, all of us talk each other over gtalk even that person is sitting a few feet away from you. I guess I’ve been communicating with my laptop too much that I hardly ever need to do the real talking. These days I’m excessively using gtalk or emails for my communication purposes. Oh geez, what if I forget how to talk. haha that’ll be interesting.

Call me crazy but I just love this Anime, “Naruto”, which is introduced to me by my bro. Well, actually it’s from his friend who downloaded many episodes and share with us. I always like cartoons and animes. Hey there is no age restriction to watch those alrite! This one is quite funny and interesting. The only thing I get annoyed is showing too many flash backs while in combat.

The main character, Naruto, is too stupid, he keeps doing the replications and everytime he fights like that his opponant pops them up like balloons. Sasuke is boring. Sakura Chan is just a crying baby, the last episode I watch, she’s learning medicine so may be she’ll get some powers later.

Some of the other characters I like are: Neji, Gaara, Rock Lee, Kakashi and ofcos Jiraiya. Their powers are so cool.

    It Stinks!

Talk about OHS in work environment, our office stinks! I mean really really stinks, the real rotten dead rat kind of stinks. It’s been stink for two whole weeks now. First we thought someone in the office didn’t take a bath but obviously it shouldn’t stink that much. We searched for a dead rat but till now in vain. Then we concluded it must be the air-condition problem. So we called the technician to check. He changed the filter and sprayed aerosol. The smell disappeared for a while and back again as usual. The problem is some people get the rotten smell and some don’t. It might depend on the air circulation in the room. Anyway, I’m one of the most unfortunate ones in the office for I have to work with that rotten smell for two weeks already plus that stupid AC is too cold for my liking. Occasionally (quite a lot this week) people are yelling and arguing and throwing and banging things around me. Headache and suffocation, really spoiling my mood!!!

    Updates:
On the third week of despair, we’ve finally found out the source of the problem. It’s a dead rat after all. The smell has been spread out the entire place and everyone starting to dig up the drawers and junk mess. Found out that the rat was on the table, behind the servers all tangled with wires. It must have gotten an electric shock.

Ironic enough, we found it behind Zatlite’s desk; he has been desperately searching for it without success last week. Today with the help of the rest of the gang, get hold of the rat.
    Pheeeww!!!
