Overseas travel and online shopping are two different types of transactions. You have an $5000 limit on online shopping per month (this online shopping can be done anywhere in the world) while shopping during overseas travel refers to using your credit on the actual swipe device on the merchant's premises off shore

Ofcos' not.
May be I'm understanding it wrong; what I thought was it's only to use for travel expenses and small shopping while travelling.
Does that mean I can still buy things from Amazon? If I still can do online shopping then I got no problem at all.

I don't get your gripe - are you planning to spend more than $5000 a month at Amazon?
