I’ve finally completed the project I’ve been working on for the past 2 months today. I’ve just sent them a 40 page user manual and only left to provide a training; probably next week. It’s a small budget but quite a tough project. Though it was a headache and tiring to develop some parts of the project, I learnt new things which I can make use of in the future projects; overall, I’m satisfied with finished product and customer is also happy about it.

Great! Now I can move on to other matters and try to get back to blogging which I’ve been ignoring for so long. Got to update all those old plugins with new versions and got to clean up the spams on my blog. I forgot when was the last day I login to my blog to clean up spam.

Oh Yes!, I have a lot of Animes to catch up too. I’m following this 3 new animes. (more…)

  • My brother, Aung a.k.a Zatlite, has started blogging yesterday after a few years of persuasion from me. He started off with twittering ,which was also the result of my persistent persuasion, and has been a good regular twitterer to date. Yesterday, he suddenly made himself a blog and now he’s crazy about it.

His very first blog, “The private life of a badminton maniac“, talks about all his passion on racquet sports, especially badminton and racquet breaking hobbies. I’ve posted some of his actions on the past Badminton games in this post and; photos and videos of his squash tournament here. (more…)

    Mayvelous on DreamHost

Did I mentioned I purchased 2 years DreamHost plan? I think I’ve twitted about it. I got some good promo code and got a good deal of $42.96 for 2yrs. That great deal is already passed but if you happen to purchase a year plan, you can try this code 117M, that should chop down a few bucks.

I’ve been wanting to switch over DreamHost for ages but due to my limited knowledge on LAMP platform and DreamHost price is a bit expensive compare to my .net host, I couldn’t dare to test it out. But with this good promotion deal, I can afford to play around on DreamHost for 2years.

I want to keep my current DotNetPark windows hosting too in case if I happen to host .net site but I don’t plan to publish a new site anytime soon; I only have this mayvelous blog and 1 hosting should be sufficient enough.

Anyhow, now is sitting on DreamHost and I’ve placed quite a lot of plugins which I couldn’t with previous Windows host. Mayvlous is now with,

    • Friendly URL
    • Related Post Links under each post
    • Photo Gallery
    • Post Rating stars
    • Affiliate Logos & Links at the side bar
    • A few widget ads programs which can only seen by certain countries

and many new plugins I’m still playing. I want to change my theme too but I still love the current one and too lazy to search for good themes so I’ll leave it as it is for now. Ok, Just drop by to say hello and let you know the updates…right, that’s about it. :)

Just done upgrading mayvelous with the latest WordPress 2.7
Love the admin so much; this is posted with QuickPress. Got DB error while upgrading and I stupidly forgot to save the error. I did ctrl+C but wasn’t copied well and lost the error message. All plugins seem to be working except FlickrRSS plugin; I don’t see the photos anymore. I just looked through quickly and very satisfy with the new admin look.
I notice it’s quite slow compare to previous version or may be my net is just slow?
I think it’s too long for QuickPress post already, so am stopping now. I’ll be back soon as my two weeks holiday starts from next week and hope to blog again. :)

    Updated: 12/12/08
I had a problem with Myanmar unicode posts which turned into weird characters and ??? after the upgrade. Seem like my DB Collation and Character encoding changed into latin1_swedish_ci while upgrading the DB.

I fixed it using this plugin: g30rg – UTF-8 Database Converter.
The plugin says it’s not supported for this version of wordpress but I got no choice. I just close my eyes and convert away. Luckily, the conversion went fine and all my Myanmar posts back to normal.

One more weird thing after the conversion was that, this post (posted last nite with QuickPress) got cut off and only the first line was there. I don’t know how it happened, I checked the file versions but all got cut off too. Luckly (again) I was able to retrieve the content back from my feed and here I am updating the post.

Thanks so much Ma Nay Nay for informing me about the problem last night.
