  • Myanmar Staff in Technorati?

Is she Burmese? Her surname, “Myint”, sounds very Burmese. She looks like one too.
If she is then great! Good to see some Burmese faces in well recognized companies such this.

    Janice Myint
    Customer Support

Janice MyintJanice has a Masters of Engineering from Cornell University. She brings with her a great deal of experience working with customers and a commitment to uphold Technorati’s mantra: “Be of Service”. A transplant from Virginia, she lives in San Francisco, co-owns an urban art gallery and retail store in the Lower Haight neighborhood of San Francisco, and, as a second degree black belt, practices Taekwondo in her spare time.

Oh I wanna complaint about technorati.:D
I can’t see any technorati back links in my wordpress dash board. Before I can see who linked me but now I can’t, been a while now. Don’t know how to fix or it’s technorati problem that they’re not tracking my site??

    Google Pages

Now that I got google page, I don’t know how to make use of it. It’s very simple to create web pages and there are ready made templates to choose from.
And also can change upto 4 different layouts.

Google Page Creator - Choose Look
    google page layout
    mayvelous - mayvelous's Home Page

Will check it out properly later, just posting some screen shots here. And thinking how to use it.

    Bloglines Feed Management

I just discovered the change in Bloglines feed management functions. They all Ajax now. Very smooth. Alot easier than before. Some of the functions you can do are as followed:

    • single/multiple drag-n-drop folders and files,
    • delete items by selecting single/multiple items and press “Delete” button.
    • Ordering (A-Z), (Z-A) or manually
    • Single-click to select.
    • Click again to rename.
    • Double-click to edit details.
    • Ctrl-click to select multiple.
    • Shift-click to select range.
    • To reorder, drag and drop into place.

I also notice these days Bloglines feed updates are very fast and Rojo gone too slow for some feeds especially blogspot feeds. So I guess I’ll be switching back to blogline and see how things go.

PS. Oh you guys see my little logo at the right or my feed?
No icon yet, I think icons are only for those feeds with lots of subscriptions cos’ those are stored on Blogline server so they must have add them manually and not from favicon link…well me don’t know.
But I’m glad to see my logo(or whatever that is) image showing up there.

Hmmm for some reason my feed got error [!] message. I don’t know why or may be I must have done something wrong or… well just have to check this post got picked up there. If not then definitely something wrong with my feed.

    Rojo Redesign

Got notice some neat redesign from Rojo.
Also a new feature “Feed Share” where you can share/promote your feeds. I don’t exactly how to use or how it works but what the heck, it’s new feature so gotta test it out.

    rojo

The feed structures are alot neater and the main page display is more user friendly and better click through I guess. The logo placing also changed.
Well whatever changes, as long as fast feed updates then I’m fine with it.

  • LightBox JS

Have you guys heard of this “Lightbox JS” yet? It’s pretty cool way of displaying images.
It’s really neat and compatible across all modern browsers.

Lightbox JS is a simple piece of JavaScript that allows you to place images above the page rather than within. A thumbnail image can be clicked on to show the full size image ontop of the page which remains darkened in the background. Closing the overlayed image brings the webpage back to normal, the user never leaves the current page.

I got an idea to use this lightbox in a new section that I’m planning to add here. At the moment I’m a bit lazy to test it yet but one of our very own developer has already used that in the new revamp of FijiTimes site and it’s working like a charm. You can have a look at in the story section. Click on the story image to enlarge and see how it go. Cool huh!

    Benefits
Places images above your current page, not within. This frees you from the constraints of the layout, particularly column widths.

Keeps users on the same page. Clicking to view an image and then having to click the back button to return to your site is bad for continuity (and no fun!).

More info on what/how to use LightBox JS can be find as follows:
