You are the developer; you all familiar with n-tier architecture so no need for the details. Here is abit of recap for you.

N-Tier Application Design

• DataAccess Layer (DA): contains all code necessary to execute SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE and DELETE statements in the database, access views, datatypes of your programming languages.
• Business Logic Layer (BL): contains code that implements the rules of your business.
• UserInterface Layer (UI): contains code that puts data into specific control in order to display it for your users.

The advantages of 3-tier design

• Able to change your application to completely different user interface without losing the other two layers of your code.
• Business rules are saved in central location. If you decide to change the process for validation an Order, you only have to change it in one place.
• If you change your DB, you only need to change DA layer.

I’m learning new things these days and am just sharing some notes here. I’m still learning and these technologies are very new for me, hence my notes gonna have heaps of errors and wrong information. You are most welcome to correct them, fill some more in and share you notes with me too. Alright, so we are set to go.

Sharepoint Experts – Dustin Miller provides us with a demo site featuring 20 server admin templates.

It’s a great help for us as we can check out all the features of each site template on live demo version. Login information is also provided there. I haven’t test out WSS V3 yet, but I heard it improves alot from the previous version. May be I’ll check it properly when the next sharepoint project comes in.

Such an ugly icon. The fox now looks like a lobster with one mustache. Also it got such a long name – “Microsoft Firefox 2007 Professional Edition“. What’s up with MS and their long versions? Professional version, developer version, standard version, etc.

Very clean, no registration required, no ads and nothing what soever at all. Very simple and sweet. Works like a charm. I tried it to my gangs in Fiji. All works and very fast too. Most of free sms sites doesn’t offer service to send to Fiji but this one does, so i’m sure if Fiji can receive it, other countries will be just fine.

Currently, there is a limit of 5 messages per day per IP address. We’ll be rolling out the option to upgrade your account and send more messages soon.

But ofcos, there is a limit of 5 messages per day from one IP. It’s very new site, so may be they’re still test driving.

Another wordpress update is out and about – WordPress 2.0.6, seems like this is the last release before WP goes into 2.1 beta stage.

This is the latest release in our stable 2.0 line, which we’ve committed to maintaining for several more years.

Here’s what’s new:

• The aforementioned security fixes.
• HTML quicktags now work in Safari browsers.
• Comments are filtered to prevent them from messing up your blog layout.
