I felt bad, I didn’t participated in last week poem tagging. It’s not because I didn’t write a poem, as a matter of fact I wrote one. It’s cos’ my poem was so stupid that I felt too lame/shame to post it. My very first reviewers say it all (bro, mom).
Anyway I’ll keep that poem to myself and as a replacement, I came across this one. Kinda nice…hey it’s not poem but very much like a poem.

Starting from this week, FijiOne is showing Pride and Prejudice premire on every Mondays.

Well it is a classic drama and my parents offered quite a good opinion of it so I watched the Keira Knightley movie and also following these series. I read the book when I was young, I think while I was 6th std, and I didn’t understand much. I kinda thought it’s a boring story with lots of long sentences which after reaching the end, you forgot what said in the beginning and lost the whole idea about that line. Of course my understanding of english language at that time was at the level of basic primary and I preferred reading Burmese cartoon than these long complicated English classics.

Now that my understanding improved, I’m reading the story again and cross checking with the movie and the tv series.

Austen’s perfect comedy of manners–one of the most popular novels of all time–features splendidly civilized sparring between the proud Mr. Darcy and the prejudiced Elizabeth Bennet as they play out their spirited courtship in a series of eighteenth-century drawing-room intrigues.

I watched the first episode and was disappointed with the followings:

• the gals are ugly, especially Jane who is suppose to be the prettiest, turns out to be the ugliest of all,
• Mary looks like an Indian gal, look silly with glasses. She looks sick. Play piano pretty well for the supposively bad pianoist.
• the mother, Mrs Bennet, talks too loud and so fast. I can’t stand her, very annoying character. Plz! I thought the gangs from Gilmores Girls are fast but they are nothing compare to this classic motor mouth.
• the dresses are awful! talk about bad designer/fashion, too tight around chest and the gowns are just so ugly.
  bright coloring on top and all white at the bottom!!! What are they thinking!
• the hair-dos, awwaugghh!! Can’t they do better hair style than those curls stick up on your forehead. Look so bad on Jane since she got thin face and fat neck, so the sticky hair make her head thinner and the neck fatter.
• Mr. Bingley’s sister, Miss Bingley, she looks like some gay freak! I think she’s even taller than her brother Mr. Bingley.

Well this is only from the first episode, may be too early to judge the whole series bad, so I’ll follow the nexts and see how it go. Oh yah I do like Mr. Darcy though, he looks much better than Mr. Darcy from the actual movie.

Some quotes I got confused with:

“She is tolerable, but not handsome enough to tempt ME; I am in no humour at present to give consequence to young ladies who are slighted by other men.”

What’s it mean by “I am in no humour at present to give consequence to young ladies who are slighted by other men”?Give consequence to? Slighted by?

“Then the two third he danced with Miss King, and the two fourth with Maria Lucas, and the two fifth with Jane again, and the two sixth with Lizzy, and the BOULANGER–”

The two third/forth/fifth?????

“If you are not so compassionate as to dine to-day with Louisa and me, we shall be in danger of hating each other for the rest of our lives, for a whole day’s tete-a-tete between two women can never end without a quarrel.

What the heck is tete-a-tete?

I’m still reading the book half way. This time going slow and reading line by line so I understand all.

I came to work quite late this morning and the taxi driver said, “don’t worry about it, the guys will be watching soccar”. He was right, we can hear the yelling from the road when we got to the office. All the guys were downstairs watching and cheering semi-final. I just thought oh well crazy guys as usual and went upstair to my place. To my surprise one lonely guy was working hard in the empty office. I asked “All the guys are watching soccer downstair, aren’t you interested in soccer?” Then a cheer went on again from downstair. He quickly answered “Oh no they score again!!!”, and rush down to see the match. haha seem like he rushing up and down juggling between his work and the game. I guess it left me the only one in the office.

What with the guys and the sport anyway? Too much don’t you think? (Okok I know the answer, don’t answer that. :>)

I wish to let you know that the FIFA World Cup has began. This is not just any other tournament, it’s the World Cup! Please note that this tournament takes a month to finish, i.e from 9th June to 9th July. During this period take note of the following:

• Will be knocking off earlier than usual in order to watch the kick off of the first game.
• Do not be surprised if I report a little bit late every morning, it will depend of the time the last game finishes.
• Production will go up during this month as almost all employees will be happy and highly motivated (Check Maslow’s motivation Theories with Human Resource).
• I know you are into other boring sports like golf, bowling, etc. Please if you want to fit in the work environment for the next one month, try to know something about soccer, even asking a foolish question like “Is Zambia playing tonight?” is welcome, that is if you really want to fit in, or else no one will be a loner for one full month.
• Greeting each other in the morning will change from “Good morning” to “How was the game last night?”
• I will not accept to work overtime during this period as no amount of money can buy me to miss a game. Therefore make sure you do not give me any work after 19:30 hours.
• I will need to be up-to-date with the latest therefore the first 1 hour every morning is for accessing sports websites and other updates on the internet and also chatting with friends.

Lastly, please do not think you can fire me should you decide to break any of the above rules as you will have to fire everyone.

Believe it or not, I’ve never been to any funeral back in Burma and been to only one funeral in Fiji which was my classmate’s mother funeral.

I came across this website and was surprised to see some video of Burmese Monk Funeral and a post about it. This one was at Shan State – “Inle”, I don’t know exactly the monk name. Seem to be happening at some rural area more like a small town or a quarter.

The movies on this page were taken when I accidently ran into a funeral of a high ranked Buddhist monk. I rented a bike and was cycling along the shoreline of lake Inle when all of a sudden a saw a large fair and many people partying on both sides of the road.

The funerals always been a noisy event, I’ve seen some famous monks funerals on TV back in Myanmar and they were more crowded and noisier than this one. I’m not sure it’s always been like this but quite an eventful display all those funerals are. Ok I can’t really tell you more about it since I have no experience of my own to share with you and it’s abit out of my knowledge.

I’ve never written about my personal stuffs like love stories, relationships matters and anything to do with those touchy heart stuffs here.

For one reason, I have nothing to write about and another is I’m not capable of discussing those delicate things in most favorable manner. People tend to get offended by my straight forward responses or opinion on the subject matter. I’m no smart conversationalist and never been good at hiding what I dislike.
