Truth be told, the main reason for lack of music post on mayvelous is cos’ our dear O’ Icy went back to Yangon for a few month. She just came back last week and must have brought back quite a few Karaoke CDs. She was telling me about the latest hits from home the other day and sent me these three songs that she tried out. As her most faithful fan, I have the honour of listening her songs first and am given the freedom of praise or criticize about them ruthlessly. ha`ha`

The three songs she sent are:

Ma Nyar Taw Buu Min Ko Chit Thi by N. Khine Yar

Tate Tate Lay Pal Chit Twar Mal by L Sai Zee

Way Ya Mhar Kyout Thu by Joe Jar

Out of them, I love the first one, “Ma Nyar Taw Buu Min Ko Chit Thi”, the most. Icy sang very well in that song and matches her voice perfectly. The other two are great too but I have a hard time catching up the words in the last song, “Way Ya Mhar Kyout Thu”, that I couldn’t get a short lyric out of it.

Icy sent me 3 versions of each song. I like the first version the best where she sang with all her feelings and sweet, emotional voice. The problem was, the recording was bad, we cannot hear her voice well and the music over powering her voice. So I asked her for 2nd recording and she improved it by adding some echo effect in them. They seem fine but I just don’t like echo effect and prefer her clear voice so asked for another try. The last try was excellent especially in “Ma Nyar Taw Buu Min Ko Chit Thi” song. Her voice and music match very well and the volume was alright too. So I accepted that version and was given the permission to post about it here so I can share with the rest of Icy’s fans.

Although I like the final versions, I still think that she’s done better in her very first recordings in terms of adding more life to the lyrics and think that her voice was more attractive in those; so here I am adding the 1st tries as well. I feel she got a little tired in “Tate Tate Lay Pal Chit Twar Mal” and “Way Ya Mhar Kyout Thu” final recordings as she must have been practising a few times and her voice must have started to give up on her; yet she has done them excellently.

Do listen to them, I guarantee that she’s way better than average newbies and has a great potential to be one of the professionals. I’m sure you’ll enjoy these three songs from Icy7ven; comments are most welcome.

Miss me?

My two weeks trip was exciting, tiring and a great fun. I met lots of new faces and visited new places. It was a great experience for me. Couldn’t come back quickly cos’ I caught a cold after the trip due to too much excitements and weather changes; then my laptop screwed up and had to repair OS. Now everything is settling down so catching up on my feeds and blogging here.

I took lots of photos and a few videos of my two weeks stay at GC, Syd and Adelaide. The main event was ofcos’ GC Tech-Ed. It was my very first business related overseas trip. I thank my bosses and the company for giving me an opportunity to participate in such event. I met lots of geeks and super geeks at Tech-Ed. There were total of 2400 delegates made their mark at Gold Coast Tech-Ed this year. ~80% of them are male with very few female delegates, regardless of this year Tech-Ed having the most female participants compare to the previous years. I’m one of those very few female delegates and most of the time I found myself lost in the superiority and the geekiest air around them. I felt like disappearing when I have no idea what the geeks were talking about. Yet, I somehow found myself enjoying their conversations and was inspired by their intense knowledge and skills on various subject matters.

Here are some of the photos Sarnil and I took from the event.

Surf Parade Apartment

We stayed at Surf Parade apartment which is about 20-30min walking distance from Gold Coast convention center and about 10min Bus ride. The room was very neat and well furnished – TV, fridge, oven, microwave, washing machine, in-room spa, etc. The view from the room was also great. Can see the beach and also the buildings from Surf Paradise area. The room costs around AUD 119 per night and ideal for two people but I stayed alone so quite a big room for me. There were heated swimming pool and tennis courts downstairs but I didn’t even have a time to peek at them. The whole day out and we only came back to our rooms after 9 or 10pm to sleep so we couldn’t check out the whole building and the surroundings.

Gold Coast City Views

There wasn’t much time for us to explore the city as our times were fully occupied inside the convention center. I found Gold Coast has many weird looking buildings, some having spiral type and some has alien style weird diamond shape in the middle. I didn’t see any building of my liking but overall the city is quite lovely and quiet.

Activities at Tech-Ed

There were lots of sessions to attend to and I had a hard time choosing them but Sarnil and I sorted out ourselves on which sessions we should attend and share them later. We couldn’t attend any hand-on-lab sessions because they were always too full. I sat one exam there but I didn’t make it. It was the very first failure in my exams history and I was very disappointed about it. I stayed 2 whole hours burning my head hard in the exam room; I missed one session and my lunch. I was so hungry and was mad at myself for the failure. Anyway what done is done and I’ll try that exam again later. So let just say, the exam was a hard one and I didn’t prepare well. Some of the sessions I attended are:

WEB316 Ajax Patterns with ASP.Net

DEV307 Developing Office Business Applications with Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for Office

DAT302 Database Schema Versioning: How to Use Microsoft Visual Studio Team System for Database Professionals and Team Foundation Server to Version and Deploy Your Databases

CON206 Custom Activities with Microsoft Windows Workflow Foundation: A Developer’s Primer

ARC307 Enterprise Library 3.1

DEV308 A Lap around Microsoft Windows Presentation Foundation

DEV311 NET Framework 3.0 End-to-End: Putting the Pieces Together

CON311 Building Microsoft Windows Workflow Foundation Enabled Windows Communication Foundation Services in .NET Framework 3.5

DEV320 Microsoft Visual C# Under the Covers: An In-Depth Look at C# 3.0

OFC418 Microsoft SharePoint Products and Technologies 2007: Deployment and Advanced Administration Topics

ARC312 Make your Customer’s Day: User First Design

I also attended the “Blogger Lunch” and here is one live post which covers pretty much everything about the session. I found out later in the “Ask the Expert” section that one of the Blogger Lunch session speakers, Darren Neimke, is in fact from Adelaide and live near Flinders University where my sister is studying.

One of the fun things about Tech-Ed was collecting stamps and freebies from exhibition stands. I collected a few pens, toys, a cap, a T-Shirt, a few evaluation product CDs and lots of information brochures. I also filled in lots of forms to place in the daily draws. There were some gift packs and good stuffs such as Xbox 360 draws everyday. My friend Robert won Xbox360 and we were very jealous of him. Such a lucky guy but he didn’t even invite us to play with him. Bad Robert!

There were tons of food and drinks at Tech-Ed; if you are a drinker, you would definitely love it. Coffee stands were always packed and I liked the breakfast donuts. Lunches and dinner were great too but for some reason I only ate lots of salad. I think it’s cos’ of different cooking style, their meat/main dishes didn’t taste good in my tongue.

Movie World Night

They booked the whole “Movie World” park for 2400 Tech-Ed delegates from 6:30 – 11pm on Thursday night. It was a great fun. We met one of the speakers and Sharepoint expert, Milan Gross, from Hawaii and team up with him to enjoy the night. We rode “Lethal Weapon” (roller coaster ride), “ScoopyDoo” ride, Batman stimulation and the Waterfall ride. I couldn’t believe I actually rode all of them and enjoyed it. I couldn’t have ride them if it wasn’t for the guys who kept pushing me to try so. Every ride I closed my eyes, shut my mouth and sit very still and stiffly so I didn’t get to see the high/dangerous views. But the feeling alone is scary enough for me. That was a great fun and we all enjoyed the night.

Evening at the Beach and Last Night Out

The final day closing note ended around 4:30pm and we rested a few min at our apartment. Then we paid our (my) first and final visit to the beach in front. It was lovely evening and we saw some surfers, walkers and swimmers there. We took some photos at the beach then went back to the apartment and waited our friend to go for dinner. The final night out was enjoyable. Conversation between Sarnil and Milan was interesting and amusing. They did the talking and I did the listening part as usual. We then had Korean BBQ for dinner and done a lot of walking around to digest the food. Actually the guys were searching for a good place to dance. I had a very early flight to catch and have to wake up around 4am in the following morning so I took an early leave, said goodbye to the guys and came back to the apartment. Then I packed my stuffs and get ready for Sydney departure in the next morning.

So Tech-Ed ended pretty well and some of Tech.Ed 2007 Statistics from lock note are:

This year there were 89,608 teeth at Tech.Ed.

You ate 12,628 bread rolls, and drank over 14,000 liters of enough coffee and Coke.

And at MovieWorld, on the Superman ride, we recorded 1,216 cries of “shhh****tttt…!!!!”

If all our Tech.Ed delegates were laid end-to-end, you’d stretch 4.15 kilometers long. But only an average of 1 meter wide. In most cases.

If all this year’s delegates forms a conga-line, that would be the end of Gold Coast Tourism.

Interesting stats, aren’t they?

I was checking out the next Tech-Ed SEA 2007 at Kuala Lumpur 10-13 Sept and found out that there is one Burmese in the speaker list. The speaker name is “Maung Maung Phyo” and is a Senior Consultant from Singapore. He looks pretty young. Kuala Lumpur Tech-Ed got quite a few female speakers and most of them look very young. Also there are lots of Asian speakers. Impressive! Our friend “Milan Gross” is in the list as well. Being a Sharepoint expert, he got to travel a lot I bet.

Anyways Gold Coast Tech-Ed 2007 was great and I enjoyed it. Tech-Ed SEA 2007 looks interesting too so do share some words about it if any of you out there attending.

It’s pretty good poem but I’m confused over the last two stanza.
What I understand is:

“Nga” = Me
“Ngar” = Ego or noun in general

Most probably “Ngar” is your ego but for my own easy translation purpose, lets’ take it as someone, say “X”.
So….when I translate, (or this is how I understand)

The 1st line says:

Will X gonna win over ME? (or) Will your Ego win over You?

The 2nd line again says:

Would ME gonna be beaten by X? (or) Will You get beaten by your own Ego?

In both way, you loses. ie. ME loses, and both lines have the same meaning.

Shouldn’t be like

Will X gonna win over ME (Will your Ego win over You?) and
Will ME gonna win over X? (Will You be able to beat your own Ego?)

Ok now, how to write that in Burmese? Ngar Muu Nga Ko Aung Myi Law…
“Muu” is something like “Ka” rite? hmmm….

I think I understand what this poem is trying to say. I’m just being an annoyingly picky person sometimes. May be my whole understanding of the poem is wrong. Sometimes meaning of the poems are so hard to figure out but I still enjoy reading those kinds and try to understand their hidden meaning.

Translation of the poem is something like this. Actually I have no idea how to translate it properly. It’s not direct translation; I just made up some parts cos’ some are weird to translate.

Ngar (Self or Ego)

I have my Ego and you have yours,
When our Egos meet,
Both turn into a fight,
With volcanic destruction, they clashes.

Ego being the problem,
Think of a chance/way to resolve it,
Search for the goods, throw away the bads,
Though you try to discard it,
It will act as a sleeping cobra,
A note from a flute could arouse,
And turn him into a deadly weapon.

Oh – Ego my buddy, shall we,
Test our strength against will,
May the best one win,
Will you win over me?
Will I be defeated by you?

Min Thu Wun

Note: Is “Ngan Mway” a Cobra? or a Viper? or a Krait? I always confused over those snakes but I know it’s definitely not a Swan, “Ngan“.
Promises and Vows
When we arrived there late and, it was already started; we were about 45min late. We gave our gifts to the welcoming party, sign the guest sheets and quickly went in front to take a seat. Nobody was taking photos that time so I started to take some, shortly followed by some guests and friends photographers. There are some speeches and prayers in both English and Fijian languages. Bride and Groom exchanged Vows in both languages as well. Jachin had a hard time repeating the Fijian words but he managed to keep up and done quite well in the end. The guests applauded him for his effort. While exchanging Vows and rings, Alisi was crying, happy tears…oh just so cute!

Fijian Ceremony
Second session started with an exchange of gifts and formal greetings/welcoming in Fijian style. Both sides talked in Fijian. I think it’s something like bride’s family handing their daughter formally to the groom’s family and vice-versa. There is this thing called, “Tabua“, whale’s tooth which is used as a gift. I think it’s similar to olden days Burmese style engagement/wedding gifts where Burmese groom side has to give a set of cows and a set of coconut and bananas (Ok I’m not so sure. Different places have different way of giving gifts in asking for their bride’s hand) to the bride side. The more set of cows you give, the better for you. But nowadays, no more cows involved (may be coconut and banana are still used) and getting more materialistic, some bride’s side would ask for money or housing or jewels. Well don’t know properly cos’ I never get to see any close relative’s wedding yet. Same thing in Fijian society but instead of cows, they use this whale’s tooth. I think Jachin side offered quite a number of whale’s teeth during their engagement to Alisi family.

         <a title="The groom side.
Honored Guests
There were quite a lot of guests attended the wedding. Many came from various part of Fiji and some from abroad. Some special guests are introduced; some came all the way from Tonga and Groom’s relatives from Brisbane Australia. There was a Tongan style food preparations ie. whole pig roasting and plenty of seafood. I forgot to take photos of the food. The meal was splendid with many courses. About 3 or 4 fish dishes, pork, Indian curries, salads, Lobsters, crabs and Fijian dishes. There were lots of food and many people took second helpings. My bro and I enjoyed a big plate full each.

Entertainment
There were three parts of entertainment. The first was a lovely song sang by one Fijian lady, the second was another song sing by Jachin’s younger brother (Jonathan or something) and his friend. I think they sang pretty well but there were some kids at the back screaming and playing and some people are not listening properly. I think the guy relized that too so he didn’t smile or say thank you towards the end of the song. But they did have some audiences, some girls came up in front to take a video. The last one was a dance performance by a young girl. I think she was one of the Bride’s maids too. It’s not a Fijian dance…Tongan?…not sure. The dance involves lots of hand movement and gestures with little head shakes and small footings. I like her costume and head part. She was very shy dancing in front everyone but she received lots of kisses from the audiences and some men danced along with her. It was overall a cute performance.

Speeches
Speeches were given by the fathers of both sides as well as the special speech by the Groom and the Bride. The speech by the bride’s father was quite amusing where he talked about how he remembered the newly son-in-law in their first meeting and their very first impression on Jachin when he was introduced to the family for the first time. I’ve finally found out the reason behind the disappearance of Jachin’s long hair and big beard from that speech. It was after all because of Alisi’s Dad’s ultimatum to cut his hair if Jachin wants to date the daughter. haha It must have been his family influence…I discovered those big beards run in the family. Check out his Dad and the brother. When I first met Jason, he got a big beard, mustaches and a whole lot of long curly hair. He was one of the guys to interview me for my job. I thought he was about 35+ or something because of his appearance. He did scare me a bit during interview compared to the 2nd interviewer, Ian, who looked quite well and keep scratching his head that time. Though Ian has a beard, he didn’t have a big hair like Jason so not that scary. hehe. I thought Jason looked like a grandson of Frank Einstein and I called him “Sir”. Later I found out that he actually was just a few years older than me and quite fun to work with once you get to know him. Apart from that, Jason’s Dad and the couple speeches are quite normal mostly thanking God and everyone. Jachin and Alisi said about 20 – 30 thank yous in their short speech. I think they didn’t prepare their speech properly. But it was fine.

Cutting Wedding Cake
Finally they cut the wedding cake. The cake looked cool and I like the porcelain doll at the top. They both look great posing in those photos.

One thing I noticed from the wedding was that there is no kissing involved after their exchange of Vows. It was absolutely PG rating. hehe The couple kisses outside while they are taking photos, just to pose. May be because the wedding was a mix styled, Fijian and Australian, some usual scenes are missing. Another thing is no throwing of flower bouquet from the Bride after the wedding…may be she did throw it before they left but I didn’t get to see cos’ we came back home early. Aww yah, I like the bouquet, it’s made out of “Tapa“. Alisi’s gown is also made of Tapa and is a beautifully crafted dress.

Anyways the wedding was great and everyone enjoyed it. Around 8:30pm, we came back home. We wished the couple many happiness and many many many children in their near future.

Scenario: My mom checking out what I’m doing and curious about who my friends are.

Me: tap tap tap….
Mom: what are to doing?
Me: Chatting with Missy.
Mom: Are they your friends? (Looking at my gtalk friend list icons)
Me: yah
Mom: who is the one called D-A-D?
Me: huh? Who?
Mom: D-A-D
Me: LOL it’s Dad!! Faygyi lay.
Mom: Oh, you chat with your father across the room too.
Me: You don’t know who the person is in the photo?
Mom: well I can’t see the photo properly.
Me: Yah yah that’s Dad.

For some reason, I chat with my dad and brother on gtalk at home instead of go talk to them in person. Last time, I was asking something to my brother over gtalk then he started yelling from his room, why am I chatting him on gtalk instead of just ask him outside. My mom is the only one who doesn’t use computer at home so I do the proper talking with her the most. At work too, all of us talk each other over gtalk even that person is sitting a few feet away from you. I guess I’ve been communicating with my laptop too much that I hardly ever need to do the real talking. These days I’m excessively using gtalk or emails for my communication purposes. Oh geez, what if I forget how to talk. haha that’ll be interesting.

I’ve been tagged for “10 Weird Things About Me” post from MaMoe. Ten is quite a number to think up. May be I’m not weird at all, but when I ask my friend, she said everything about me is weird. Man, what is that suppose to mean? Anyways, the followings are ten weird things about me. (may be not)

I don’t like ice cream, chocolate and sweets. (ice cream sticky my mouth/fingers, chocolates stuck in the teeth, sweets are just too sweet)

Sometimes, I sleep with eyes open. (so mom says. Very rare ok!)

I pull my hair whenever I’m reading or into deep thoughts.

I bite my lip till it bleed.

I don’t own a single makeup or costmastic except lipstick (which I wear to prevent myself from biting lips).

I don’t like orange, I don’t like water melon or any other fruits that would wet/sticky my fingers. Not that I don’t like them, I just don’t feel like eating them.

I use tissue paper to hold my mouse. (Finger/palm got sweaty and it gets dirty and sticky which I hate very much)

Sometimes I don’t comb my hair or look myself in the mirror for the whole day. (Especially during the weekends)

Sometimes I talk/mumble to myself whenever I’m thinking or coding something.

Then again, I sometimes don’t talk at all to anyone for the whole day.

Ok so that’s about it for me and my weirdness. Now…who shall I tag?
I’m tagging…7venians, Klosayhtoo, CMS, Strange Pants and 50 Viss

Sorry for the late post this week. No excuses, I’m just being lazy to post. Anyways, this week pick includes a lovely Tongan song and more of 7ven’s old songs. You can also check out previous posts here:
This week I got two songs from Phwe’s old collections. “Ta Di Ya Nay Mhar Par” is about rememberence of the old university by Mie Mie Win Phay and Phwe sang it pretty well, though I think the song should be abit slower cos’ it’s suppose to be a sad song. “Pa Soe Nae Tite Pong” is Phwe’s favorite. The song is about wearing Burmese traditional dress – a gal is telling her bf to wear proper dress when he come see her parents. Her parents don’t like baggy cloths and next time if he doesn’t wear proper clothing, she will not accept him. It’s a good song though I find it kinda funny.

Tu’I kolongahau kaikoa
A friend from Tonga forwarded me this beautiful song. This is the first time for me to listen a Tongan song and I like it. Sometimes back, one of my friend sent me a PNG song which also has the similar name Maria or Mae in it. Unfortunately I misplaced the file and couldn’t find it back. But I think PNG and Tongan dialect are a bit similar…may be not. I also lost a CD with many good songs from South Pacific – Polynesia, Melanesia, Micronesia and all those small island nations. I’ve been losing things lately, hmm so bad! Anyways, I requested the song details and here is what he sent me. Sweet isn’t it. I bet his gal must be really touched by it.

[ WMA ] Tu’I kolongahau kaikoa – Oh, my dear Maria

About the song:This song has been played throughout the three local and secular radio stations in Tonga: FM 88.6, FM 90 and AM 110.03

I wrote this in dedication to my current girlfriend. Her name is Demarise, who is currently studying in Africa. Due to the long distance relationship, and being, what we call it, ‘lovesick’ most of the time, I decided to put all my thoughts into a song, with my heart etched to it. The chorus of the song has her name in it.

I never thought this song would be recognized. I guess it’s just that I put my whole heart into it, where there are also others out there who can identify themselves with me. We all go through times when you think you will go crazy just missing somebody you love so much. I have translated the lyrics of the song in English, though I wish you knew Tongan because the heat of the matter is better explained in my mother tongue language, Tongan.

Read, listen and enjoy. And to all you lovebirds out there, just hang in there!

English Translation

Oh, my dear Maria

As the wind blows from the northern hemisphere
My thoughts are just filled with you
I don’t see anything else but your face in my dreams
It actually relieves me of the pain I feel (in heart and mind)

Chorus:
Oh, oh, oh, my Maria…

In the evening when the sun is about to set
It reminds me of your beautiful smile
I think of nothing and nobody else but you alone
Yes, the love of my heart (my lover)

Oh how I wish that I were near you
The thought of it just takes my breath away
Yes, I so cannot wait for that day
When I pledge you myself (body, heart, mind and soul)

# NB. The file is in .wma format and it got some keys in it. Just download it and you should be able to play as many times as you wish.
Thanks Hayden and Tu’i-K-K for the song.

May – G7ven
And finally this two is from me. “A Pyin Pyay Nya Nay” is about a girl day dreaming in a boring evening and sings about the thing she sees on the street. It’s L Sine Ze’s song and my recording is crap, overriding her vocal. “Nha Ko Tu Chit Ta Mhya” is very OLD song from a very OLD movie – “Thingyan Moe”, singing about two love birds. It’s a duet song but I sang for both. I can’t keep up the vocals … oh well…who cares!

Hello hello, I forgot to post a music pick yesterday, I was fully occupied (watching movies, eating, sleeping); anyways I’ve selected six old songs this week and am going to introduce one new singer. Incase if you haven’t heard/are wondering what this post is about, you can check an introductory post last week which explains about this.

This week songs are especially dedicated to self-proclaimed “Ko Ko” out there. LOL nah…I just found some of our old songs with “Ko Ko” in it so compiled it together here.

Phwe – Icy7ven
I’ve introduced her in last week post. This week she sang the following two songs. I think “Tate Ta Kho A Chit” is from “Mu Paing Chit Thu” movie with Kyaw Thu and May Than Nu. Very old one, if I remember it right. It’s a nice movie though I forgot the whole story, I guess the song was sang when Kyaw Thu was away and May Than Nu got sick…or something like that.

The 2nd song is from May Kha Lar’s album sang by Yu Za Na. I think Phwe is better than Yu Za Na in vocal. I don’t like Yu Za Na voice much cos’ it’s kinda like throaty and flat. But she knows how to sing so it’s good for her.

[ MP3 ] Phwe – Tate Ta Kho A Chit
[See post to listen to audio]

[ MP3 ] Phwe – Ko Ko Ko

NWP
This guy is my OLD school friend. He’s a shy one; young, good looking, smart (doing his Masters), kind, patient (that’s what he said, but I don’t think so), single (all the ladies out there, if you’re interested, just give a buzz lol) and he sings quite well too. There you go man; I’m saying all good things about you so you owe me a good lunch. Bite sar nay tal kwa!

Both songs are nice. I think “Kyin Nar Lo Chit Pa Ya Say” is originally sung by Doe Lone. NWP sang it quite differently in terms of ah…how to say…breaking parts and the tune. But his version is also good and easy listening. I don’t know who sang “Myat Lone Chin Sakar Pyaw Nay Pyi” but it’s a nice one too.

[ MP3 ] NWP – Myat Lone Chin Sakar Pyaw Nay Pyi
Aww, I don’t know her at all. I heard, she got a nice vocal and her friends adore her, so she assumes.

The IT team I’m working with at the moment is made up of very young and cheerful youths in their mid 20s. They do numerous daily routines such as maintaining websites, reports, support calls, tech job such as fixing printers and whatever people ask them to help with. Most of the time, guys are running around different departments and picking calls. Very few times, you’ll find them sitting at their desk. They do shifts and some stay up really late to finish their work. Though they are busy, you will find them cheerful, always ready to make a joke and are quite loud. Sometimes they would pick on each others, calling names and saying bad things against each other. They are doing it just to amuse themselves during the busy hours and bring up team spirit.

I enjoy working with them, they amuse me most of the times and would never get bored listening to their chatters. Indeed, it’s a good team and working environment (except for closely packed room).

The followings are some of their conversations I picked up today:

Playing Music
Scenario:The guy was playing some instrumental music and others starting complaining at him.

X: May, if this disturbing you, let me know Ok? For the rest of you, you got no choice.

May: It’s Ok.

The Rest: Wow Vayah, Like that huh!

X: It’s always been like that!

(*Laugh*)

ID Card Idea.
Scenario: The guys were discussing about their new ID card design.

X: Hey who’s the best graphic designer here? What about the layout?

(One guy (Y) went up to the board and started drawing)

Y: Let’s make it like this.
We can put our logo here.
Our address at the bottom
Name here
Photo here
Then we can add Shimmering stuffs around here.

X: What’s the shimmering stuffs?

Y: You know, some sparkling things. Something like…in nightclubs. The shining stars and the sparks.

Z: Oh rite, put some neon light balls and some dangling stuffs at the bottom of the card.

Y: Yah then we show it to everyone – this is our ID card. Auu very attractive.

Z: Haha, hey make it as Business card. Everyone wanna have one too.

(*Laugh*)

Spy
Scenario: The guys were gossiping about something in quite low tone

May: Alrite guys, I’m off

X: Auu, there she go. You know what, don’t talk around May. She’s a spy from Datec

May: What? Spy?

Y: Oh yah becareful with your confidential information. May is watching.

May: Haha yah I’m a spy. Professional Spy

May: May, James May – 0007 here.

(*Laugh*)

I said no more music pick last time rite? Well…I lied, kind of. I was digging up old emails and I came across some of my friends’ songs; then the idea struck me – to do music picks on those. You see, a few of my friends are really musical and they have such good talents that are hidden behind their busy selves. I, as their good friend, have a responsibility to promote those hidden talents and show them off to the public. You never know, one day they’ll thank me or swear at me. hehe.

Phwe – Icy7ven
First of all, I like to introduce this young and talented missy – Phwe. She’s one of my 7ven friends and is a great singer in our group. Her best interests are to sing, chat and diet. She can sing for hours, no need any water or backup. She sings at home, in the loo, in bathroom, bedroom, kitchen, her friends’ places, and any place she can possibly think of singing. At the moment she is concentrating on her study. Due to her parents’ no-singing policy, she has to finish her studies first then follow her dreams. Already she got bookings from her friends to sing at their special occasions.

[ MP3 ] Icy7ven – De Ta Thet Lone

Missy sang at last year Thingyan festival too, I bet she’s practicing for this year Thingyan as well. You can request her to sing any song you have in mind. Oh yah she can sing quadri-lingual, Myanmar, English, Indian and Nepalese. How cool is that! Last time she sang me “Kush kush ho te hel” song and I think even Ashwaya Rai need to practice more on her vocal to catch up our Missy. hehe

Glass Alley
This is one of my friend’s high school band, sort of. A group of hsch friends teamed up to do a bit of recording. Sadly, the band is pretty much no more due to their members getting married and entering the chaos of daily life. The members were Meli, Albert, Jonathan, Steve and Forlani (my friend). I think Forlani played bass and did the intro part. Don’t know who the vocalist is but he’s got a potential. Sounded like John Mayer’s voice. There you go, shout me something good. Haha

These two songs are from one of their live shows. The recording is not that good in some parts but I think it’s alright. Both are their own creations so no replication please.

May – G7ven
A Ham, Ahamm! Ladies and gentlemen, girls and boys, lend me your ears. I have a great pleasure to introduce this amazing, talented, beautiful, magnificent, gorgeous, the marvelous (Cut, cut!), ME. A ha` ha`

Hey nothing wrong with promoting yourself alrite. There is this marketing theory – the more you promote yourself, the more people will buy from you. (or something like that) Not that I got anything to sell you, I’m just giving an example…well you know what I mean. I don’t think you need farther intro for me. I don’t sing anywhere and singing is not my specialty. I listen most of the time and am a good listener. Just for fun, I do sing from time to time for my own pleasure. I got a great support from my family, especially bro and sis to shut myself up whenever I try to sing.

In Hlet Kyi Par Oo, ahoot* cough* cough* I was screaming that much but that person never look back. What a fool. I got a sore throat after that. A friend sent me a scratched background music so it came out terrible. All my recordings sux. Well who cares! Do excuse me, if you hear some dog barking at the background. My dog wanted to sing too (or may be complaining my singing), so just to satisfy her, I have to record a few of her woofs* as well.

Alrite, that’s all for this week. Hope you enjoy listening all our songs and our sweet voices (especially mine rite?).hehe

I requested some songs from a few friends of mine so you’ll get to listen more from simple and ordinary talents in weeks ahead. Oh yah, if you’re interested to join us, do send me your songs. It doesn’t have to be your own creation. It can be Karaoke versions too. I just wanna hear your voices. Like my friend said, “any publicity is a good publicity”, so don’t be shy, lend me your voices.
